Notes

Our nutritional breakdown is calculated specifically for this "clean" version of the recipe, which uses fresh ground porkand 1/2 cup of mashed blueberries to yield 30 consistent sausage balls. By using unseasoned pork, we have full control over the quality of the meat and the specific salt content, ensuring there are no hidden sugars or fillers.
If you are in a pinch and decide to use pre-made breakfast sausage from the store, you can certainly do so, but you’ll need to adjust the recipe. Since pre-packaged sausage is already heavily salted and spiced, you should eliminate the added salt, pepper, sage, and thyme. Additionally, most commercial breakfast sausages have a higher fat-to-lean ratio than fresh ground pork, so you should omit the 4 tablespoons of butter to keep the consistency from becoming too oily. Stick to the fresh ingredients for the best metabolic results!
